  I bought a sleep number bed a few years ago and was told by the salesman at the local store that the warranty was good for life as long as I kept the pump/equipment plugged in to a battery back up/surge protector. The sleep number guys delivered and set it up, plugging it into my ADT surge protector/battery backup and has stayed that way the entire time I"ve owned the bed and equipment. Lightning hit my location and blew up the machine/pump on the bed. After discussing with "customer service" I was told if any other appliances were damaged, that voided their warranty and my home insurance has to pay. What if someone doesn't have home insurance? Why won't they stand by their products, especially after I was told by the salesman it would be under warranty for life? I am very dissatisfied with the Sleep Number company and will NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE.

  Horrible buying experience! Purchased a mattress and our sales rep guaranteed us that if we did not like the mattress we could rtn it and only have to pay a flat shipping rate. After we returned the mattress corp advised us that we would have to pay extra fees and basically said we should have read the fine print! The mattress was the worst sleep I have ever had. Unless you purchase the top of the line mattress it is not worth the money.
